MMTS Hyderabad

The MMTS (Multi Model Transport system) has been a big hit in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The fast running electric trains connects the ends of the cities covering most of the areas. The frequency of these trains is also pretty amazing. The fares are also very less as compared to any other transport system. There is a website i recently encountered which contains most (infact all) information about the MMTS service in the city. You can find it here:
http://www.mmtshyd.com .
The map that explains the connectivity of the lines of the MMTS trains is here - http://www.mmtshyd.com/map.html .

Continuing the winning streak as a Cricket team captain!!

Whoa!!!

An amazing day coming to an end. By the way am still working at office on this beautiful Sunday Night(I donno whether its beautiful or not as i havent seen it, am sitting infront of my Laptop with some documents around). I know you will be wondering why i call this an amazing day...Well, i have a very good reason for that!!
Today we had the second match in Cricket Hungama 07(An annual cricket tournament in Microsoft which will be played against internal teams-a total of 64 teams participating this year). We won it in flying colors and now we are in Pre-quarters. By the way, am the proud captain for my team "ASM Warriors". Here is the summary of the match in my own words addressing to the team after the match:

Hi All,

It is just amazing to have such a team. To summarize the match in few lines, here it goes:

The opponents won the toss and asked us to bat first. Starting the batting line up without Ravi.C was unexpected but Srini came handy as he opened the innings with Nischal who ultimately proved to be “The Wall” for ASM Warriors. It was a good start with some cheeky singles and timely boundaries until the mishap of Srini’s run out happened. As always I went in to keep the scoreboard ticking with a four and 2 sixes but finally fell for a fulltoss with the long on catching it without any trouble. Vipul went in and smashed a boundary which lightened up our camp but fell for the same shot I played to the long on fielder. It was then a series of wickets falling with a similar dismissal style(i.e., catch to the long on fielder). On the other end it was Nischal who stood strong like a wall who kept the scoreboard ticking. Finally with the help of Biswa’s boundary on the last ball of our innings, we ended our innings at 76 for 9 wickets in 10 overs.

We had some healthy discussions during the break and we knew what we had to do. That’s exactly we did on the ground later.

Davinder started the innings with a superb delivery(Yorker right in the block hole!!! It was a feast to watch such a delivery) which proved too good for the batsman who was sent for a duck. Having adrenaline level increasing with the spirit of the boys, we were unstoppable. Davinder struck again with one more wicket. What better start can u expect as a captain. Then it was Vipul’s turn. Amazing overs followed by Davinder and Vipul which totally took the game away from our opponents. Then it was Biswa and Nischal who left nothing for the opponents with some decent fielding by the team. It was a spirited team performance with everyone contributing in some of the other form which made us win this match.

Guys,
This is a good improvement but remember, the matches from now on will be tougher and tougher. We need to improve a lot to become the champions and remember noting can be achieved without hard work.
We definitely need to improve in the batting department and also fielding. We need to practice really hard to grow stronger and stronger. Lets not lose it from here.

Heads up: We will be playing OEM in the next match on Thursday / Friday. OEM is a very good team compared to our previous opponents. Most of us have seen their match today and they are a pretty good batting as well as bowling side. Lets go and rock them!!!

Final Scores:
ASM Warriors: 76/9 in 10 overs. Nischal 25, Praveen 21.
CSD Edge II : 44 all out in 9.2 overs. Davinder 3 overs-14 runs-3 wickets

Thanks and Regards,
Praveen

back after a long break!!!!

Finally i made it after a long break....sorry for absence all these days but what to do my schedule not permitting me to spare time for my loving blog :(.

November 14...its a day loved by children all over the country...after all its the b'day of one of the greatest people in India "Chacha nehru" (as called by all the beloved children of this wonderful country of ours...

There were much more events today other than Children's day....its Yash's birthday today and we had a nice party at "Yo-china" (place is cool the but the food actually sucks!!!!).....U will be wondering who Yash is...right??? well, yash (yashwanth) is one of my closest buddies around...he is a cool guy with an awsome attitude ofcrs!!!!!

The most important part of the day was...its "World usability day" today. We actually organized a conference which included speakers like Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan (Chairman and CEO of Rediff.com), Mr. Shankar Narayan (one of the most well known architechts in A.P., pioneer behind the cool projects like MMTS stations and Shilparamam in Hyderabad), Shekar kammula (one of the very few innovative movie makers!!!), Dr. Ajantha Sen (professor,IDC,IIT bombay), Mr.Srini Koppolu (Corporate VP and MD IDC Microsoft). It was an amazing experience for me talking to thos big shots and learning a lot from them.
The conference was basically included so as to bring in the awareness abount the usability of products and also its design which created a wave of enthusiasm in me to be a product designer in future (sounds really cool but a real tough journey ahead....). Overall the event was a huge success with lots of learning made out of the entire day....I wish many of my freinds could have made it to the place but none seem interested. I really think these folks missed a lot in terms of new experience about designs and stuff which we use in our day to day life.

There are many more things i would like to share with you but right now i need to rush...will catch u later with more news some time very soon.

Enjoy life!!!!

Back with Golconda news!!!!!

Its a boring Saturday morning here (boring in the sense....i am in office now working on the weekends too :-( !!!!

So...as promised to u all, its time for now to share our experiences at Golconda last week with u all!!!!
That was a saturday...Woke up very early in the morning at about 7(usually will sleep until 11am on weekends!!). Called up all the buddies and informed them to come soon...Me and vivek(poor souls) were waiting for the folks who will come to the fort with us from 9:30 and by the time all came(especially girls...ab makeup lagaane mein thoda time to lag hi jaata hai na!!!) it was 12 and finally the journey to golconda started.....Long drive of about an hr or so on bikes and cars and we were there, in front of the historic Golconda fort!!!

Finally after a long discussion, we hired a guide to explain us about the complete fort and he did so(hopefully he knew what he was telling!!!). That a fun filled day as most of us had turned up and were in a very exciting moods meeting each other after a long gap....

Everything was going fine and suddenly mu cell phone rings and i see that its a number from USA...i take the call and its Sujith(ours and only our Oors!!!!) on the other side of the phone, i didnt knew how to react (was happy but we all were badly missing the guys in US..).

There were very good locations out there with lots of photos taken and it was almost over when yashwanth (finally) joined us...Now it was time to have some food as we were really tired(i dont think so!!!)...
Finally decided to go to a nearby restro and had and ordered some hyderabadi biryani. That was the departing time for all of us (had a wonderful day together but donno when a similar day will return :-(...

Waiting for similar amazing days......

Signing off,
Praveen
